Dr. Joanie Kleypas

Joanie Kleypas has researched the impacts of climate change and ocean acidification on coral reefs for 30 years, with an emphasis on finding solutions. She is founder and director of the NGO Raising Coral Costa Rica to restore coral reefs using sound science and strong community engagement. With a strong background in both research and practical restoration, she brings valuable insight to Hybrid Reef Solutions’ efforts to collaborate with nonprofits and restoration projects to advance effective, science-driven solutions.
